Price Comparison Pages: Prevent Non-Monetized Clicks

Overview

The Price Comparison Pages feature can help you capture revenue from clicks that would otherwise go unmonetized. When a reader clicks on a product link that leads to a merchant without an eligible affiliate program, Sovrn automatically generates a price comparison page showing alternate merchants where the same product is available, ensuring every click has the potential to earn.

How it works

When a non-monetized click is detected:

  1. Sovrn automatically generates a price comparison page.

  2. The original merchant remains listed first to maintain context and transparency for the shopper.

  3. Alternate merchants are displayed with real-time prices and product availability, giving readers more options to purchase.

  4. If the reader selects an alternate merchant, the click is redirected to a monetized partner, helping you recover potential lost revenue.

Key benefits

  • Recover lost commissions: Automatically turn unmonetized clicks into monetized ones.

  • Improve conversion rates: Shoppers see multiple buying options, which increases the likelihood of purchase.

  • Enhance reader trust: Always display the original merchant first for clarity and consistency.

  • Automated updates: Pricing and availability refresh in real time – no manual maintenance required.

  • Zero coding required: Sovrn handles all setup and automation for you.

How to enable Price Comparison Pages for non-monetized clicks

Currently, Price Comparison Pages for unmonetized clicks can only be enabled by the Sovrn Support team.

To enable:

  1. Contact Support

  2. Request activation of Price Comparison Pages for non-monetized clicks

  3. The Support team will confirm once the feature has been enabled for your account

Once active, Sovrn will automatically generate price comparison pages any time an unmonetized click is detected.

Example scenario

You add a link to a product on target.com, but your account isn’t approved for Target’s affiliate program. Instead of losing that potential revenue:

  • Your audience sees a page featuring Target as the first option, followed by other merchants (e.g., Walmart, Best Buy, or Amazon) that sell the same product.

  • Each alternative merchant includes updated pricing and stock information.

  • Any clicks to those merchants are monetized through Sovrn Commerce.
