Find Coupon Codes for a Specific Product

If you want to show your audience coupon codes for a specific product, you can use the Product Coupons API to see verified coupon codes.

When this is useful

Use this when you want to add coupon codes to:

  • An article, homepage, or feed

  • A “best deals for this item” callout in an article or gift guide

  • A shopping module that sits alongside price comparison buttons

What you need

You’ll need the product page URL for the item you’re featuring. If you’re not sure what to use, grab the URL from the retailer or brand’s site (the page a shopper would land on).

What you’ll get back

  • Coupon code

    • The coupon code returned is the best available at that moment – prioritized by verification status and the biggest discount.

  • Affiliated URL

  • Original price

  • Price with code (final price after applying the code)

  • Currency

  • Verification status

    • If verification_active is true but no coupon code is shown, it usually means a code isn’t available yet. Sovrn is still scanning – check again in about an hour.

    • If verification_active is false and a coupon code is shown, it has not been tested yet.

  • Timestamp when the code was last verified

  • Code description

How publishers typically use this

Most teams use the response to power a simple shopper experience, like:

  • “Try these codes” under a product mention

  • A coupon drawer/modal next to a buy button

  • A coupon block that appears when a reader clicks out to the retailer

Things to keep in mind

  • Not every product will have coupons available

  • Coupon availability can change quickly (codes expire or get replaced), so it’s best to refresh regularly if you’re displaying them on a site.
