About Signal Vitals
Signal’s Inventory and Demand analytics takes your ad quality and demand performance data and compares it to the rest of the market, helping you benchmark your inventory against competitors and highlight areas for optimization.
The insights in Signal Vitals are generated from two datasets:
Our attention data collected by tracking readers’ engagement with the page
Bid data from all Prebid auctions on the tracked pageview
Attention Data
When Signal is on the page, it listens for over 40 user interactions in order to say when a user is actively engaged with the page. Through this, we are able to say how much attention each of the ads on the page receives as well as the total time the user spends actively engaged with the content.
In the dashboard, this is used to give a high-level view of your ad quality and identify your premium inventory.
Bid Data
Signal also collects all bids from all Prebid auctions happening for the pageview, giving a holistic view of the health of your prebid setup and each of its demand partner integrations.
We then combine these two data sets to give a more granular view of performance and determine where you could be getting more value from your inventory.
How is Signal delivered?
Signal’s data collection beacon can be delivered either by installing Signal on the page or through a Prebid impression which is won by Sovrn.
