Payments in Ad Exchange

Google OB earnings are paid directly to publishers by Google, not by Sovrn.

Payments are submitted based on payment terms defined in the publisher's T&Cs. 

Net45 payments are submitted on the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be submitted on the first business day that follows.

Net60 payments are submitted on the first business day of the month.

How do I setup payments and taxes with Sovrn Advertising? 

So you're ready to start making money with your Sovrn account? Good! We can only pay you if you take this step to provide your payment information, so let's get everything setup so that when the time comes, you'll get paid!

  1. First log into your Sovrn account here and navigate to the Payment page. 

  2. Make sure the Product dropdown is set to the appropriate product.

  1. Find the Payment Settings tab and fill out each of the sub-tabs: Address, Payment Method, and Tax Forms.

  2. You will need to scroll down to the Next button to navigate between the sub-tabs.

  3. Payment Method and Currency:

    • Payment methods available depend on the publisher's location. 

    • Sovrn submits all payments in USD, however, a publisher may choose to receive the funds in a different currency (note: FX fees may apply). 

      • Currency options depend on selected payment method and publisher location.

  4. Tax Forms. Make sure to fill out all this information correctly so you're ready to go when tax season comes around. To learn more about tax forms, make sure to take a look at this article: Will I Receive a 1099?

How do I know if my account is not payable?

If there is a problem with the payable status on your account, you'll see a banner on your Payments page.

"Your account is currently not payable and requires your attention"

Click Review Actions to see what is required from you to correct it.

What are the standard payment methods Sovrn uses to pay out to publishers?

This information only applies to direct Sovrn publishers and is a general guideline. Not all payment methods are available to every publisher due to restrictions in some locations. Processing times may vary, depending on bank location and currency selection. 

  • PayPal 

    • May process the same day payment is submitted. 

    • Easiest and most convenient way to receive your earnings.

  • ACH (Automated Clearing House) Transfer 

    • 1-3 business days to process

    • This is only available for USA bank accounts. For banks located outside the USA, please see eCheck/Local Transfer option.

  • Wire Transfer

    • 1-2 business days to process

      • Payments to banks located in USA may process sooner (same day)

    • Higher payment threshold of $50. See below.

    • Swift codes and BIC codes are the same/interchangeable in your payment settings.

  • eCheck/Local Transfer

    • 1-3 business days to process

    • Limited in availability, based on location

  • Paper Check 

    • Up to 2-day delay for cutting and processing

    • Standard delivery via USPS applies after that point

    • This option is only available in the USA

What is the fastest method for a publisher to get paid?

PayPal is the fastest standard payment method offered by Sovrn.

  • 1 day delay maximum in most cases

What is the minimum payment threshold for Sovrn?

At least a $25 earnings balance at the end of the month is required to be paid by Sovrn. Once your account balance reaches $25, your payment will be submitted in the next payment cycle, based on publisher payment terms. . If you did not reach $25, your earnings will be rolled over into the next month's payment. 

Note: If your preferred payment method is a wire transfer, there is a $50 threshold

What are the payment periods for Sovrn?

Most publishers are paid on a net 45 basis, regardless of payment type. However, the processing time associated with your payment type determines how long it takes for funds to actually arrive in your account.

  • For example, if a publisher earns $100 during the month of January, that amount is posted to their account on January 31st. 45 days later, on March 15th, Sovrn submits a payment for $100 to the publisher.

Is there an option to get paid faster? 

Yes, Sovrn offers an InstantPay service in which you can be paid your Ad Exchange earnings on a Net 5 basis. In order to participate, you will need to sign a short Instant Pay addendum. Fees for this service are as follows:

Who is responsible for exchange fees and bank fees?

Sovrn covers any currency exchange fees that are required to send the payment, but banks might charge additional fees. Publishers should always contact their banks first with questions about payments received.
Sovrn submits all payments in USD. If a publisher chooses to receive payments in a different currency, the associated foreign exchange fees are the publisher's responsibility.

What currency does Sovrn pay in and can I get paid in a different one?  

Sovrn submits all payments in USD. Publishers can choose to receive the funds in a different currency, depending on payment method and bank location. If a publisher chooses to receive payments in a different currency, the associated exchange fees are the publisher's responsibility.
