Why was my previously approved bundle now denied?

Approval on the Sovrn Ad Exchange is not permanent. To protect the quality of our inventory for advertisers and end users, Sovrn continuously monitors the traffic quality of approved properties and periodically re-checks that you're still authorized to sell the inventory. A bundle that was approved before can be denied later if it stops meeting those standards.

Why Sovrn re-evaluates approved bundles

Sovrn monitors approved Ad Exchange inventory on an ongoing basis for two main reasons:

  • Traffic quality. As traffic continues to flow to Sovrn, our system watches for signs of poor-quality or invalid traffic (IVT). If the traffic from a bundle degrades and is deemed poor quality, Sovrn may shut the bundle down to protect the exchange.

  • Ownership and authorization. Sovrn periodically re-verifies that your app-ads.txt / ads.txt, sellers.json, and supply chain (schain) still authorize you to sell the inventory. If that authorization can no longer be confirmed, the bundle can be denied.

Where to find the denial reason and date

The denial reason and the date it was denied are shown in the Properties section of the Sovrn Platform. Open the property to see why it was denied and when.

Once you know the reason, follow the remediation guidance for that specific denial category in My application/bundle was denied. How can I resolve this?. In many cases, once you've addressed the underlying issue, your property can be reconsidered for approval.
