Sovrn scans the creatives that flow through the Ad Exchange in real time to keep malicious ads (malvertising) off your inventory. To do this, Sovrn partners with HUMAN, an MRC-accredited vendor that monitors the creatives Sovrn receives during the auction.
How Sovrn detects and blocks malvertising
When a creative is submitted into a Sovrn Ad Exchange auction, HUMAN evaluates it for malvertising and other threats. If a creative is caught as malvertising, Sovrn's system rejects it so it cannot be displayed or served — not only on your inventory, but across the entire Sovrn exchange. Blocking the creative at the exchange level protects every publisher on Sovrn from that bad actor, not just the property where it first appeared.
This real-time protection is part of Sovrn's broader commitment to a clean marketplace. Sovrn is TAG Platinum certified, TAG's highest designation for combating fraud, malware, and piracy in the programmatic advertising ecosystem.
What to do if you spot a concerning ad
If you see an ad on your inventory that you believe is malvertising or is otherwise problematic, you should report it to Sovrn so the team can investigate and block it. For instructions on how to capture and submit the details Sovrn needs, see How do I report a bad ad?
