Does Sovrn support ad podding?

Yes. The Sovrn Ad Exchange supports ad podding for connected TV (CTV) and video inventory. Sovrn carries the OpenRTB 2.6 ad pod signals you send and passes them through to demand partners, so buyers receive the full structure of your ad pod. Ad podding is the delivery of multiple video ads together within a single commercial break, as you'd see in a CTV or long-form video environment.

How Sovrn handles ad pods

The Sovrn Ad Exchange supports ad podding at the signal level. Sovrn accepts the OpenRTB 2.6 pod fields you pass — such as the pod identifier, pod duration, and ad-slot sequencing — and forwards them to demand partners as received. In other words, Sovrn acts as a passthrough for podded requests: it does not reorder, repackage, or run its own pod optimization or decisioning on top of the pod you send. The pod structure your integration provides is the structure buyers receive.

Whether demand bids on podded inventory

Support for ad podding on the Sovrn Ad Exchange is separate from whether a given demand partner chooses to bid on podded inventory. Because Sovrn passes the pod signals through to buyers rather than making decisions about them, whether to bid on a pod — and how a buyer fills the individual slots — rests with the demand partner.

To help buyers value podded CTV inventory, Sovrn also recommends passing rich content metadata (genre, series, title, channel, and similar) alongside your pod requests.

How podded requests are structured

How a podded request is represented depends on your CTV integration path with Sovrn. In some integrations, a single impression object carries the OpenRTB 2.6 values that describe the whole pod, including its duration and slots. In others, the request contains multiple impression objects, where each impression represents one ad slot in the pod and the impression duration reflects the pod's overall length. In each case, Sovrn forwards the request to demand as it's received.
